Six Nordic FAs Withdraw Confidence in Infantino and Demand FIFA Reform

pThe football associations of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and the Faroe Islands have declared that they have lost confidence in FIFA president Gianni Infantino and called for broad governance reforms./ppThe six associations issued a joint statement after meeting together and backed calls for a fully independent external investigation into developments linked to a proposal involving private investment in the commercial interests of FIFA competitions./ppThey also demanded binding guarantees that FIFA governance and competitions would not be opened to private ownership, alongside a comprehensive review of transparency, accountability and checks and balances within the organisation./ppThe move adds to growing pressure on Infantino from several regional confederations. FIFA had not issued a detailed response to the joint Nordic statement at the time of publication./p
