Sports regulations expert Amer El Omaria said CAF's rules are clear regarding qualification for the Confederation Cup, stressing that the domestic cup winner earns a place in the continental competition.
The statement comes after ZED reached the Egypt Cup final, leaving the club one match away from a first-ever African appearance if it goes on to lift the trophy.
Under CAF regulations, the cup berth goes to the title holder, although the final outcome still depends on the result of the final and the completion of the required club licensing and registration procedures.
