Nantes face difficult survival task after PSG defeat

Nantes need near-perfect results and help from rivals to boost their Ligue 1 survival hopes.

Nantes' battle to remain in Ligue 1 has become more complicated after a 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes, in a match that also featured Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed.

The result left Nantes 17th with 20 points and only four rounds remaining, meaning the club now needs a strong run of results to revive its chances of escaping the relegation zone.

Mathematically, Nantes must win as many of its remaining matches as possible while hoping direct rivals drop points. Reaching 32 points could improve their position, but it would not guarantee safety if nearby teams also collect results.

The team's recent poor form has narrowed the margin for error, making every remaining fixture vital both at home and away.
