Portugal head coach Roberto Martínez said the final group-stage match against Colombia at the 2026 World Cup will be a different test for his team, especially with a large Colombian crowd expected in Miami.
Martínez explained that Portugal began preparing for this fixture as early as March, using an extended training plan in Miami to adapt to the weather, humidity and pitch conditions.
Colombia have already qualified after collecting six points from two matches, while Portugal enter the game with four points and a clear desire to improve their position and avoid a tougher knockout path.
The Portuguese coach stressed that calculations should not come before performance, insisting that any team aiming to win the World Cup must respect every opponent and treat each match as a separate test.
