Ibrahim Hassan Confirms Egypt Friendly Against Russia Before World Cup

Egypt will face Russia in a friendly on May 28 at the New Administrative Capital Stadium as part of World Cup preparations.

Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan has confirmed the details of the Pharaohs’ friendly against Russia as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The match is scheduled for May 28 at 9:00 p.m. Cairo time at the Egypt Stadium in the New Administrative Capital, as Egypt step up their pre-tournament programme before travelling to the United States.

Hassan said the fixture was arranged through coordination between the Egyptian Football Association, the technical staff led by Hossam Hassan, and United Sports Company, with the aim of building a strong preparation schedule.

Egypt are expected to travel to the United States on May 30, before playing a final friendly against Brazil on June 6 in Ohio ahead of the World Cup.

The two warm-up matches are expected to give the coaching staff a crucial opportunity to assess fitness, tactical options and the final shape of the squad before the tournament begins.
