Ibrahim Adel says Al Ahly negotiated and Elneny relayed Abdelhafeez's interest

Ibrahim Adel said Al Ahly contacted him when a return seemed possible, but his priority remained pursuing a move in Europe.

Ibrahim Adel, now playing for Danish side Nordsjaelland, has revealed details of Al Ahly’s attempt to sign him before his move to Europe.

The player said Al Ahly entered negotiations when a return to Egypt was still a possibility, but he had already made up his mind to continue his professional path abroad.

Adel added that Mohamed Elneny spoke to him and informed him of Sayed Abdelhafeez’s desire to contact him, but he replied that he had already agreed with a European club while expressing full respect for Al Ahly and the opportunity itself.

He also noted that his salary in Denmark is far lower than what he could have earned by returning domestically, but he chose the overseas move because it better matched his long-term sporting ambitions.
