Pyramids sporting director Hany Saeed has said the club withdrew its request for foreign referees for the upcoming Zamalek match, adding that the team has no issue with an Egyptian officiating crew.
Saeed also confirmed that Mostafa Fathi suffered a serious collarbone injury and will undergo surgery, with an expected absence of between two and three months.
According to the club official, that timeframe makes a World Cup appearance with Egypt highly unlikely, turning the injury into a major blow for both Pyramids and the national team.
Pyramids are now waiting for the player's full recovery plan while continuing preparations for the Zamalek clash amid a crowded schedule and multiple competitions.
