Guimaraes explains Brazil draw with Morocco: the result was fair

Bruno Guimaraes admitted Morocco made life difficult and called the draw fair.

Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes described the 1-1 draw with Morocco in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group C opener as a fair result based on the balance of the game.

The Brazilian midfielder acknowledged that Morocco were better in the first half, with Ismael Saibari scoring in the 21st minute before Vinicius Junior equalised for Brazil in the 32nd minute.

The match at New York New Jersey Stadium exposed Brazil’s difficulties in controlling midfield for long spells, although their performance improved to some extent after tactical adjustments.

Guimaraes’ comments reflected an honest assessment of a demanding opener against a well-organised Morocco side, while also suggesting Brazil need more balance in the matches ahead.

Brazil and Morocco both begin Group C with one point, making the next round of matches important in shaping the race for qualification.
