The Confederation of African Football has announced the main calendar windows for the 2026-27 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, along with updates related to prize money for both competitions.
According to the circulated interclub calendar, the preliminary rounds are expected to begin in September 2026, with the group stage scheduled for the final quarter of the year before the knockout phase continues in 2027.
The new season will be important for African clubs, with the competitions retaining a broad preliminary structure before 16 teams reach the group stage in each tournament.
On prize money, reports indicate an increase from previous editions, with the CAF Champions League winner set to receive the largest share, followed by the Confederation Cup champion, while preliminary-stage clubs are also expected to receive financial support.
The announcement comes at a key time for clubs preparing their continental registration, licensing files and squad lists, with final round-by-round details still dependent on CAF's official updates before the draws.
