Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has defended Mohamed Salah ahead of Liverpool's highly anticipated Premier League clash with United.
Speaking in comments carried by Anfield Wrap, Fernandes said Salah remains one of the best goalscorers in the Premier League and rejected the idea that a short dip in front of goal means a decline in quality.
The Portuguese midfielder stressed that the Egyptian forward's level and body of work in England cannot be judged on a brief spell without goals.
Salah is set to miss the match because of a minor muscle injury, with Liverpool entering the game fourth on 58 points and Manchester United third on 61 ahead of matchweek 35.
