Ashley Young announces retirement at end of season

Ashley Young brings down the curtain on a career that lasted more than two decades.

Ashley Young, the Ipswich Town player and former England international, has announced that he will retire from professional football at the end of the 2025-26 season.

The 40-year-old enjoyed a career spanning more than two decades, starting at Watford before spells with Aston Villa, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Everton and Ipswich Town.

Young won major honours during his career, including the Premier League with Manchester United and Serie A with Inter Milan, while also earning 39 caps for England.

His retirement brings an end to the journey of a versatile player who began as an attacking winger before successfully adapting into an experienced full-back.
