Egyptian Football Association president Hany Abou Rida has intensified his criticism of Al Ahly by revealing fresh details about the dispute surrounding the VAR hearing session.
Abou Rida said the federation asked Al Ahly to specify the names of the delegation set to attend the hearing, but the response was: "You will see them tomorrow," a reply he suggested did not help the process.
The EFA chief added that Egyptian football’s image abroad has become unworthy because of repeated crises and the way some sensitive issues have recently been handled.
The comments come as the debate continues over the cancelled hearing session and over who bears administrative and organisational responsibility for what happened.
It remains to be seen whether Al Ahly will issue an official reply to Abou Rida’s latest comments or whether the matter will move into a new phase of escalation.
